New Year’s Eve is less than a week away! As a kid growing up 2 and a 1/2 hours from New York City, I have always dreamed of watching the ball drop in Time Square. Maybe one day… Since I don’t have any crazy amazing traveling spots under my belt for this time of year yet, I put together a LIST POST of all my favorite New Year’s Eve posts I have read.
I first want to start off with a native New York’s blog post about spending the holiday season in NYC. It is called Best of NYC for the Holidays by a New Yorker, very fitting title might I say. There is much great insight in Karen’s writing as she starts with Thanksgiving, proceeds to Christmas and ends with NYE. Loved this when I read it and I hope it brings help to others as well.
I was sad to see that Oregon did not make it on that top 10 list above so I wanted to make sure my favorite mountain made it here too. Mt Hood is an hour and 45 min east of Portland. This year it has more snow in December than they have had in the past 5 years and their snow pack is deeper than many other places around the country right now. If you are ready for skiing or snowboarding, a dinner buffet, and live music then the New Years Eve Celebration at Mt Hood is the place for you!
Lastly, if you are looking for international NYE travel I thought The Jetsetter Diaries did a good article on the Best Destinations to Celebrate New Years Eve. The 6 countries may slightly differ in the way they bring in the New Year, but they all consist of brilliant firework shows. Which is what everyone wants to see right?! A new country under your belt is not such a bad way to get 2017 started. I know St. Petersburg, Russia is on my NYE Life List!
Wherever you decide to spend your NYE, have a blast with friends, family, and loved ones. Get ready for a great year to come of new adventures and travels. Say buh bye to 2016 and HELLLLLOOOO 2017!!!
